The
National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century:
The National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century
is comprised of 46 state societies and one international society

Our 11,500 members share a common interest in American history,

in harmonious fellowship to achieve the important goals listed
below
in the Object of the Society.

Object of the National Society:
To aid in the preservation of the records
and of the historic sites of our country;
To aid in the preservation of the records and of
the historic sites of our country;
To foster interest in historical colonial research;
To aid in the education of the youth of our country;
To commemorate the noble and heroic deeds of our
ancestors, and to maintain zealously those high principles of virtue,
courage and patriotism which led to the independence of the Colonies
and the foundation and establishment of the United States of America;
To maintain a Library of Heraldry and preserve the
lineage and Coats of Arms of our Armorial ancestors;
To develop a library specializing in seventeenth
century American colonial data.

To achieve our goals as stated
in the Object of the Society:
We identify and mark historic sites (especially
those with Colonial period import)
We acquire books, microfiche readers and funds for
our library
We document our ancestors and the roles they played
in the development of our great Nation
We maintain a museum in our National Headquarters
building
We maintain the grave site of Pocahontas "Lady
Rebecca Rolfe" in Gravesend, England and have a scholarship
in her honor for those of Native American descent interested in
pursuing the medical professions
We volunteer hours at VA Hospitals and provide clothing
and household goods to assist our veterans and help them rebuild
civilian lives.
Please note that while we take a strong interest
in the affairs of our Nation, we are an apolitical organization.
