of the Mississippi State Society:
The Mississippi State Society was founded in February
of 1965 and we have sixteen chapters at present for a total membership
of 595.

Pertinent Facts About the Mississippi
State Society:
We have two Honorary President Generals: (Mrs. Hannon
A. Gardner & Mrs. John P. Harkins) and thirteen Honorary State
Presidents who aid in providing leadership for our state society.
We also have had two National Outstanding Junior
Members from our state: Mrs. Phillip Carson (Cindy J.) and Mrs.
Neely Carlton.
We have one member who is currently serving as First
Vice-President General- Mrs. Emile J. Gex (Juanita).
We have had two national scholarship winners from
Mississippi: Mrs. Bobby Chain, Jr. (Christy Blacklidge) and Mrs.
Christopher Moss (Christy Crawford).
Mrs. Charles R. G. Schimpf, Honorary State President,
presented the Mississippi Room/Museum with a Lincoln Rosewood Rocker
and two "Rose Bowls" (circa 1900).

Our state conference will be held in Jackson, MS
on January 28 & 29, 2005.
Historic Sites Marked in Mississippi:
We have placed historical markers on many sites
during the last fifteen years. Most of them are still being used
as places of worship and meeting sites. Some of those marked are:
